Michelle offers a generalized practice with specializations in several areas:
Grief and loss;
Working with Athletes;
Trauma (PTSD & CPTSD);
Multicultural counselling.
Michelle specializes in providing counselling to those experiencing grief and loss. She offers a background with a vast depth of experience as well as specialized training and interest in this area. She has lived experience relating to the loss of a grandparent, child, infant as well as perinatal loss.
As an athlete, coach, and counsellor, Michelle offers a depth and breadth of experience providing her with a unique approach to athletes. She has worked as a consultant with teams experiencing a vast array of challenges. She has designed unique team interventions that have moved their teams from various states of chaos and dysfunction into cultures of support, success, and productivity. Individually, Michelle offers athletes knowledgeable and specialized counselling support. She assists athletes in navigating the challenging waters of competition, loss, and injury.
During her Masters, Michelle trained with a specialized focus on cultural competence in counselling. She is a culturally sensitive and aware counsellor with a generalist approach that provides the foundation from which to work with a diverse array of concerns.
Michelle views counselling as sacred and believes in the use of story and witnessing of pain to be transformative and empowering.
